Our farm story

Picture
We love watching sunsets, caring for our farm, and making memories with friends – so we're opening our new wildflower pollinator field for you to share these experiences. We're blessed to call our small farm home and are excited to share Wildflower Art Farm with people who treasure nature's beauty and tranquility. We're also busy professionals, so we're open by reservation only. Fill out the contact us form to receive the e-mail and be one of the first to hear when the wildflowers are ready to be picked, or if you're a professional photographer interesting in 2026 booking. We're about halfway between Indianapolis and Lafayette, 15 minutes off I-65 or I-74, and will provide our address with your appointment confirmation.

The people behind Wildflower Art Farm

Hi, I'm Michele and I've worked on building this little farm for nearly 20 years. I'm a big believer in agriculture of all sizes and shapes, founded in my love of dairy cattle – which you'll see grazing in our pasture. These beauties are not available to the public – but if I'm home, I'll be glad to answer questions - especially about the big white queen of the pasture, Patience. I'm an author of four books and a professional speaker, bridging the gap between farm and food. There's so much misinformation about farming out there; I hope that our flowers give you a glimpse of how farmers work hard to do the right thing. I love to create on blank canvases – whether fields, frames, or in the kitchen.
And I'm Erik, known as city boy, because my wife and stepdaughter like to pick on me. I tell everyone that cows are women's work on our farm, but our  pollinator field has been a labor of love. I thought we needed more trees around our place and then Michele started talking about wildflowers, and here we are with a new project. I'm in IT and break things as a tester, but find peace from being in nature and helping at church. Putting together our woods of maple, walnut, oak, hickory, dogwood, pecan, spruces - and pollinators has been a learning and muscle experience. I'm a big sports fan - especially the Fever and Vikings - and have never met a stranger, so you're likely to talk to me on your visit.

Why visit?
Peace.
It's rare to hear another voice out here. We apologize if a moo disrupts the quiet, but our Holsteins are spoiled show cattle. They're behind an electric fence and not available to visitors in their pasture for your safety and their health. However, some pretty amazing sunsets and golden hours come as part of the photo or wildflower picking appointments – which are also behind an electric fence to protect our trees/plants from deer. The photo above is a great example of the beauty of our field, even before it was planted in pollinators.

Tranquility.
Butterflies and hummingbirds flying around are our norm, but visitors get excited to see them. Remember it's best to not touch or chase them - and if you see a bee, just leave it be. Please also respect our farm and protect the pollinators by leaving nothing behind - trash really upsets us. We cherish the environment on our farm, drink the water from a well next to the flower field, and do everything we can to preserve farmland for the future.

Beauty.
Where else can you pick wildflowers to take home, find art from pressed flowers grown on property, or have really special photos captured? It is said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but we hope you agree that Wildflower Art Farm brings you peace, tranquility, and beauty in a difficult world. We're growing a small business to bring joy through the art of nature and deeply appreciate the support of surrounding communities.

Visit us summer 2026 to enjoy the art of nature with wildflower bouquets, amazing photos, or pressed flowers.
